Friday was my best friend’s birthday, and she is an absolutely fantastic baker. I wanted to make something that she would appreciate and enjoy. She had told me before that she really really wanted to try Smlove Pie, from Veganomicon, but was intimidated by the recipe. So I went for it.

Although it sounds like a really complicated thing to make, it’s actually very easy. It’s only a long process because the pie has to chill for at least three hours after you bake it, before you can put the toppings on. Other than that, it’s simple!

DEFINITELY a winner of a recipe. And the candied pecans were amazing on their own too! Make sure you make extra so you can munch on them. YUM!
